FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
Everything our readers ask most often: licences, scoring method, payment, personal data and prevention.
The comparison site
What exactly is CoteBoost?
CoteBoost is a French editorial publication founded in 2026. We publish comparative reviews of sports betting operators holding a licence from the French National Gaming Authority. We take no stakes, hold no funds and open no accounts for our readers.
How do you award your scores?
Five criteria are scored out of 10: odds quality (the real margin recorded every week), depth of the live betting range, mobile experience, French-speaking customer support and the cash out feature. The final score is a weighted average, reviewed every quarter. The full protocol is set out on our About page.
Why only two operators?
Because we test with our own accounts and our own money. We would rather have two reviews verified end to end than fifteen copied-out listings. Further licensed operators will be added as we test them.
Do you publish tips?
No. We issue no tips, no selections and no betting advice. Our work covers only the comparison of the operators themselves.
Licences and legality
What is the ANJ?
The Autorité Nationale des Jeux is the independent administrative authority that has regulated betting in France since 2020, replacing ARJEL. It issues licences, supervises operators and publishes a public register of licence holders.
How can I check a licence myself?
Go to the ANJ’s official register of licensed operators and search for the holder’s registered name. For every operator we give that legal name, the licence category and the authorised domain, so the check takes less than a minute.
Are the operators shown authorised in France?
Yes. Betclic (Betclic Enterprises Limited) and Feelingbet (Feeling Publishing) both appear on the ANJ register for online sports betting. We re-check that entry at every quarterly update.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes, 18. Sports betting is strictly forbidden to minors in France, with no exception, including in the presence of an adult. Licensed operators verify identity and age when an account is opened.
Money and transparency
Is CoteBoost paid by the operators?
Some outbound links are paid: if you open an account after clicking, the operator pays us a commission. That payment funds the editorial team. It plays no part in how scores are calculated and does not change the order of the comparison. The detail is explained on our Disclosure page.
Do I have to pay for the service?
No. All of our content is freely available. We sell no subscription, no tips and no training.
Can an operator buy a better score?
No. Scores are awarded by the editorial team on the basis of the published protocol and signed off by the editor-in-chief. No operator reads or approves our reviews before publication.
Personal data
What data do you collect?
Only what you send us voluntarily through the contact form, plus anonymised audience measurement if you accept it. No advertising profiling, no resale of data. See the privacy policy.
Can I refuse cookies?
Yes. The banner shown when you arrive lets you refuse in a single click, just as easily as accepting. Only cookies strictly necessary to run the site stay active. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie policy.
How do I exercise my GDPR rights?
Write to privacy@coteboost.com stating your request (access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability). We reply within 30 days at most.
Prevention
How do I limit my spending?
Every operator licensed in France must let you set a deposit limit and a stake limit, which can only be raised after a cooling-off delay. Set them before your first stake, not after. Our Responsible betting page explains each tool.
How do I self-exclude?
You can request a temporary exclusion from the operator, or a national betting ban from the ANJ. The latter lasts three years, applies to every licensed operator and cannot be lifted before it expires.
Where can I find free help?
Joueurs Info Service on 09 74 75 13 13 (standard rate, every day from 8am to 2am) offers a free and anonymous helpline. SOS Joueurs also supports family and friends. The links are in the footer.
